I Was Made For Listening Yet? (Kiss x Harry Styles)

When Harry Styles announced his fourth studio album Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, I couldn’t help but be reminded of the band KISS, and their 1979 disco hit “I Was Made For Lovin’ You.” I was hoping this upcoming album would have some actual disco songs on there.

It didn’t.

So, as my mind does, I get different songs running through my head at the same time. When I realized that the fourth track on “KISSCO,” “Are You Listening Yet?” shares the same key and similar BPM to the Kiss track, I heard both songs running through my head in unison. It was a Saturday night (no fever) when this happened, and I immediately got to work. I did the usual process; converting to MP3, plugging into Moises, altering BPMs, isolating vocals and instrumentals, and finally polishing it up in iMovie. I liked the original outcome, but I thought the volume of Styles’ opening hums were too drowned out by the Kiss instrumental. So, the next day, I went back in and fixed that.

I wanted to post the mashup the following Friday after I made it, but I thought it was too soon. Besides, I’ve already broken the 5-week cycle, so this one is coming a full ten weeks after my previous one. I really hope you enjoy this one, as I have technically turned a “KISSCO” song into both a Kiss AND a disco song!

One final thing.

I would like to dedicate this mashup to my uncle, Steven Canter, who unfortunately passed away last Friday, April 17th. My Uncle Steve was an incredible man who always supported the things I do and the things both my younger brother and I create. He would consistently be there for most of my TikTok videos (when I still had TikTok), and I’m sure he would’ve loved to hear this mashup. Whether he and my aunt were visiting from Florida or talking via FaceTime, I enjoyed every moment I spent with him. Uncle Steve, I miss you dearly and fondly. I love you forever.
