Electric Dizzy Touch (Shinedown x Taylor Swift feat. Fall Out Boy)

This one is already a hall-of-famer.

“It sounds like Electric Touch” was the first thing I said while listening to Shinedown’s love anthem “Dizzy” for the first time on May 29th, 2026. It’s the sixth track on the rock band’s newest album EI8HT, and I was pleasantly surprised to hear a more romantic song from the band. That being said, given its key of G major and uplifting tempo, “Dizzy” immediately reminded me of my favorite Taylor Swift vault track, “Electric Touch (feat. Fall Out Boy).” For the longest time, I never thought of any song that would match well with it, and I wanted to leave it untouched, as it’s perfect the way it is.

Then “Dizzy” came out.

I didn’t make the mashup right away, but I’ve started to get back into the craft with “Elizabeth Taylor’s Thrift Shop” and another mashup I still have hidden in the vault. So, I couldn’t help but finally make this one. I made the mashup on July 6th, 2026, just three days after the release of my previous mashup. July 6th is a special day in the world of Jacob Allan Mashups, as it was the day I uploaded my very first mashup “Adore Your Second Chance” in 2023. Three years later, I’ve now made a total of four Shinedown mashups, three of them being mashups of Shinedown x Taylor Swift (including this brand new one).

Going into this one, I thought: “Okay… this needs to be PER-FECT.” I made sure to download the two tracks from YouTube with great audio quality, match the BPM, and adjust volumes on iMovie as necessary. Another important dilemma I faced myself with was the vocal distribution between all three singers in the mashup (Taylor Swift, Patrick Stump & Brent Smith). I wanted to divide the solos as evenly as I could. But then I had an idea: What if Brent & Patrick’s narratives were fighting over Taylor’s?

It almost reminded me of the series The Summer I Turned Pretty, in which two brothers fight over the same girl. Perhaps “Dizzy” is Jeremiah’s point of view, whereas Patrick Stump’s verse in “Electric Touch” represents Conrad. So what I ended up doing was overlapping the second verses of both songs, having both male singers go at the exact same time. Then, I split the chorus between the two, giving the first half to Stump and the second half to Smith.

The bridge was the easiest part to do. The bridge of “Dizzy” is just the lyrics “You got me dizzy” repeated a few times in the background. So, I repeated the phrase a few more times to match up with the bridge of “Electric Touch.” I then took the liberty of throwing in the “Dizzy” chorus right before overlapping the choruses of both songs. I gave myself more creative freedom then I typically do with this mashup, and I really should start thinking about doing that more often, instead of conforming to one specific format.

Ultimately, this mashup has become a fast favorite of mine, and I truly hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.
