To Be So Lonesome (Harry Styles x Sabrina Carpenter)

This was a very rare moment where I created a mashup two days before premiering it on my channel. I of course did that with Welcome Home, Industry Baby, but that was a mashup I had previously made and wanted to revamp before I shared it with the world. This one went right out of the oven.

When “Lonesome” was released with the deluxe version of Sabrina Carpenter’s “emails i can’t send,” I made a reaction video to the four bonus tracks (including this one). For a while, I had a feeling that the song sounded very similar to something I know… and one day it clicked. It was Harry Styles’ “To Be So Lonely.” So one gloomy Tuesday in late November 2023, I was bored in my dorm and I decided to make this “downer-duo” mashup.

I followed the typical process I would use to make my mashups, and formatted it how I usually would – switching back and forth between songs until both final choruses overlap. For this one, I noticed something fun. At one point in the overlap, Styles and Carpenter sing the words “lonely” and “lonesome” respectively… at the same time. (In the video, it occurs roughly at the 3:01 timestamp). I premiered this video on my YouTube channel on November 30th, 2023.
